Team TelAtlantic’s
mission is to introduce new communications products and
services while maintaining a strong presence in the communities
we serve. Our subsidiary, Communications Plus,
is playing a key role in bringing 21st century communications
services to the Morgantown area and Charles Pointe community.
Building and leading service as well as community oriented
companies is the forte of the leadership team, each of
whom brings decades of experience to this vital mission.

James
H. Lauffer – President, Communications Plus –
Jim has 33 years experience in the telecommunications
industry, and 31 of those years at ALLTEL Corporation.
His wide range of management experience includes field
operations, customer service, financial management and
strategic planning. As Vice President and General Manager
of ALLTEL’s Pennsylvania wireline operations,
Jim reorganized operations and implemented functional
changes that significantly improved operating income.
In 2003 as President and CEO of Bentleyville Communications
Corporation, he launched the company’s high speed
internet access service. He attended the Strategic Planning
and Management Program, Fuqua School of Business, at
Duke University, and the United States Telephone Association
Management Development Program at the University of
Kansas.
Edward
E. Bridges, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TelAtlantic
– Ed has 30 years of international management,
marketing and finance experience and 12 years of telecom
venture experience with Rural Telephone companies. He
also provided Satellite carrier service to an international
customer base and was founder & CEO of TelaLink
Network with a proven record in RLEC acquisitions. Ed
managed a US construction company in the Middle East
with 2000 employees and he designed/built $700 million
petrochemical projects on time and without penalty over
a 7-year period. He holds a BA in Mathematics from MSU
(MS) and an advanced management degree from the American
Graduate School of International Management “Thunderbird”.
Walter
J. Burmeister – Vice Chairman and COO, TelAtlantic
– Walt has 44 years experience in the telecommunications
industry. He spent 32 of these years within the Bell System
(Bell Atlantic and AT&T) where he held executive level
positions in Network Planning, Engineering, Operations,
Sales, and Finance. In 1995 Walt founded FaciliCom International,
an international long distance carrier, and established
operations in the US and 13 European countries. At the
time of its merger with World Access in 1999, FaciliCom
had invested $200M in its network and had reached $500M
in annual sales. From 1999-2001, Walt was President &
COO of World Access. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Engineering
Administration from George Washington University and attended
the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
Charles
E. Moore, Jr., President and Chief Financial Officer,
TelAtlantic - Charlie has 33 years of
experience in the telecommunications industry. For most
of this period he held executive level positions with
Bell Atlantic/Verizon in the areas of strategic planning,
international and domestic financial management, accounting,
human resources, regulatory affairs, and public relations.
He served as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President
of Finance or Controller for a number of Bell Atlantic
business units. Prior to joining the TelAtlantic team,
Charlie spent two years as an Executive Recruiter in
the Telecom and IT industries. Charlie holds a B.A.
in Sociology from McDaniel College and a Masters in
Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University.
