CHARLES POINTE TO WELCOME VISITORS SATURDAY
WITH A DAY OF TOURS AND FUN
BRIDGEPORT,
WV - Charles Pointe will welcome visitors for the first
time with Tour the Pointe, Saturday, August 6. Gov.
Joe Manchin III and developer James A. Corton will kick
off events with an official gate-opening ceremony at
9:45 a.m., followed from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with
a tour of the property, give-a-ways, a live radio remote,
entertainment, food, and special activities for children.
The entire event is free and open to the public.
West Virginia’s first master-planned community,
Charles Pointe is the dream of Corton and his wife,
Jennifer Compton Corton, managing partners of Genesis
Partners of Bridgeport, which is developing the complex
of homes and retail, professional and recreation facilities.
Tour the Pointe also will feature a Partners Tent where
Corton and representatives from Genesis’s business
partners will greet visitors and personally answer their
questions. Those partners will include the following:
Bridgeport Conference Center, Fifth Third Bank, CB Richard
Ellis, Communications Plus (TelAtlantic), Wingate Inn,
Microtel Inn and Suites, Harrison Rural Electrification
Association, S&A Homes, Tailfeathers, Secure US,
ERA Apex Realty, Greater Bridgeport Conference &
Visitors Center, the City of Bridgeport and The Phillips
Group.
“We
look forward to welcoming visitors for an ‘inside
look’ at Charles Pointe, West Virginia’s
first master-planned community,” Corton stated.
“After
years of planning, the community is beginning to come
to life. We are excited about the progress and want
to share our vision with our friends and neighbors from
around the state. The tour will be illustrative of that
vision,” he said.
Corton also emphasized that, “Charles Pointe is
about family and community, about living, working and
playing in a community designed to accommodate the needs
of individuals, families and businesses with an emphasis
on excellence and innovation.”
Forty million dollars has been invested in the development
which, when completed, will include over $750 million
of investments in residences, retail and professional
facilities, and recreation venues.
Not only will visitors tour the 1,700 acre site, but
they will learn more about the many innovative features
of the community, including fiber-to-the-home and to
businesses.
For example, Corton pointed out, Genesis business partner
TelAtlantic Communications Inc., through its subsidiary
Communications Plus, is using Tellabs® DynamicHomeSM
solution to deliver integrated state-of-the-art communications
with such benefits as digital video, high-speed Internet
and telephone.
The entire community, including office complexes, retail
outlets, and restaurants, will have fiber to the premise
upon occupancy, making Charles Pointe the first West
Virginia master-planned community offering access to
the sophisticated video, voice and data services available
only through fiber optic technology.
Charles Pointe is located just north of I-79’s
Jerry Dove Drive Exit 124. Ample parking will be available.
